01/02/13 - National BT Openreach Core Network Routing Issue

Some of our customers may currently be experiencing difficulties when dialling out. This is a national problem which will be resolved as soon as possible.

This is not a problem which affects our i-Net Hosted PBX Telephony users. Broadband and VoIP services are unaffected. Only customers connected via Elan Telecom to the BT Openreach core network on Analogue, ISDN2e or ISDN30 Exchange Lines are affected.

As a temporary work around, please follow these steps:

(Note - if you normally dial 9 for an outside line first, then continue to do so)
Dial bypass code 1280
Then dial the number you wish to contact as normal.

We will update this announcement as soon as the problem is resolved. In the meantime we recommend trying dialling as normal (without the 1280 bypass code) every 30 minutes or so - if you are able to connect as normal then the problem will have been fixed.

Update: 12:25pm

The engineers are still working on the issues that have caused the outage. The problem has been identified and is being repaired at the moment. The fix time is expected to be 3 hrs from now for the primary cause, although issues should start to ease in approximately 1hr.

Update: 14:45pm

It appears services are now starting to come back on-line. We will confirm as soon as we have official response and service restored confirmation.

Update 16:55pm

We've had official confirmation from BT Openreach that this issue has been resolved. On behalf of our associates at BT Openreach, our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
